Sweat and effort
When I go to Kuk Sool Won training sessions, I’m a firm believer that you should always try your very best. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you should try hard physically. Because trying hard with a wasted movement isn’t especially useful, and is probably counterproductive. You must try hard and smart. You must try your best to move properly and efficiently.
You must try hard both physically and mentally. You have to ensure that you concentrate on what you are doing. If you are doing a hyung, your attention should be 100% on that hyung, and not on what happened on work, or earlier in the day, or on what you will do after class.
If you try your best, both physically and mentally, then you have left everything on the dojang floor. You will have left behind your sweat and effort. Then you can go home and feel very good about your training. However if you train lackadaisically, you’ll go home feel unsatisfied. That is because part of your sweat could not get out and your effort is still inside you.
So why not leave it all on the dojang floor. You’ll get much more in return.
